No Vacancy is a bar tucked away on North Hudson Avenue in Hollywood, known for its layered atmosphere that shifts as the night progresses. What starts as a low-key spot with comfortable seating and knowledgeable bartenders eventually swells into a lively dance floor and late-night hangout, making it a versatile destination depending on your mood and timing.

The entrance itself hints at the venue’s character – a bit secretive and designed to feel like stepping back in time, although recent renovations have altered the usual "cool entrance" experience some regulars look forward to. Inside, the space balances vintage charm with a modern edge, hosting burlesque shows and live music that draw diverse crowds.

Menu-wise, No Vacancy leans on solid bar staples with interesting twists: think a well-made Michelada, red wines, and a sangria that often surfaces at special events. The food here, mostly focused on elevated comfort fare like creative grilled cheese sandwiches and burgers stacked with smoked bacon, caramelized onions, and specialty cheeses, matches the bar’s approachable yet refined vibe.

Visitors who appreciate skillful cocktail craft will find bartenders willing to customize drinks, adding a personal touch that keeps locals and visitors coming back. On slower nights, it’s a good spot for casual drinks and conversation, while post-10pm sees the energy ramp up as people gather for music, dancing, and sometimes shuffleboard matches, adding a playful element to the night.

The crowd tends to be a mix of neighborhood regulars, groups stopping by between brewery visits, and folks celebrating events—ranging from laid-back early evenings to busy weekends filled with live performances. Coming early on weekends can help avoid lines and cover charges, and if you plan to stay late, it’s wise to know where the restrooms are before the place fills up.

Overall, No Vacancy offers a layered nightlife experience that marries Hollywood’s vintage quirks with contemporary social energy. It fits well for those who want more than just a drink—whether you’re after a crafted cocktail in an intimate setting, a casual game of shuffleboard, or a night energized by music and performance.

Wanted to show my wife the ‘cool entrance’ but it was under renovations and not open. Has to come in the normal way always love coming here when I’m in town. People start coming after 10. Bartender made us some custom gin cocktails.

Wow! What a cool spot. We came through here on our way from brewery to brewery. Stopped and got a couple beers and cocktails then destroyed some fellow vacationers in shuffleboard. Great music, service and a fun time.

Honestly, I cannot wait to return. My friends and I arrived early on a Saturday night to make sure we got inside. Surprisingly, there was no cover (I guess because we were the first ones there.) It's such a fun place with gorgeous atmosphere, very talented bartenders, plenty of spots to sit, a huge dance floor, and a burlesque show. It gets crowded later at night so definitely use the restroom in advance or you'll be in a long line. Again, I can't wait to return. Look for this building if you cannot find the place: PS Look under the stair case!

Last weekend, I attended @fever_us, Jack & Sally's Bloody Bottomless Sangria Haunted Wedding Celebration. There were certainly things I loved, and some things I didn’t love so much. The event was held at Jane’s House, a historic “haunted” house in a bad part of Hollywood. Once inside the venue, everything was gorgeous, and you forgot where you were for a while. The food was tasty, the drinks constantly refreshed, and the staff was on point! We had chicken taquitos, street tacos, and chocolate cake, all served up with bottomless red wine sangrias. The venue constantly played different Nightmare Before Christmas songs, so the music made me feel like I was in @Disneyland for Halloween. I absolutely loved that. The event could have done a bit more to fit the theme, like include Sally for instance. The price of the ticket was for the exclusivity of a private party in Hollywood, more so than for the ambience. The home itself was beyond gorgeous. Overall, I had a great time and would actually attend another event. #DineWithDavi Follow me @dining_with_davi
